Orlan spacesuit gloves

Internal pressure inflates the glove and tries to straighten the fingers: every grip takes effort, and over a six-hour excursion the hands tire more than anything else. That is why the glove has more layers, seams and precise patterns than any other component. The problem is met by a set of devices: corrugated folds at the joints, a cable system compensating inflation, and a sealed bearing allowing the wrist to rotate freely. The outer layer holds temperatures from minus 100 to plus 100 degrees and resists cuts on sharp structural edges. On display are gloves sectioned by layer with each material described.
